Projects Description

The projects selected in this group were part of the 31.9% of the repair and
reconstruction works accomplished by the FOREC in the educational and
public infrastructure.

Pijao Town Hall, Fire station and the Jesus Maria Ocampo school, suffered the effects of the 1999 earthquake,  where they collapsed in their totally.

Canaan Developers won a public tender to carry out the management  of a the contract to reconstruct the buildings with public funds collected by the FOREC.

South Education Citadel was a new construction of educational buildings to replace various schools that also collapsed during the 1999 earthquake in Calarca. This project was commissioned to a Spanish firm.

The regional hospital of the Guajira State required a new building to locate the intensive care unit (ICU). Mauricio Tangarife Architecture was appointed as a consultant for the healthcare fit-out of this new building. This project was
divided into four zones that helped to inform the design: patient care, clinical
support, unit support and family support zone.

The Military Training Building was a project commissioned to an Architect friend who I joined to collaborate in the technical design and drafting of information for tender packages.
